About the position

Reporting to the Administration Coordinator, this position will provide executive and administrative support to the Dean and the Deputy Dean within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The position will also work with the broader administrative team to assist in ensuring School objectives are met, and that University policies and procedures are followed.

The primary responsibilities of this role include effectively managing the delivery of a wide range of administrative support activities and working collaboratively with other professional staff. This is a highly visible position with responsibility for a range of confidential matters requiring the ability to exercise considerable judgement, initiative, discretion and independence.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent.
  • Ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows within own area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with people at different levels of seniority, internal and external to the University.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision, show initiative and work productively as part of a team and take responsibility for outcomes.
