About the Student Administration Services

Student Administration Services (SAS) provides support across the student and teaching lifecycles, from enrolments to graduation. Defined by two interconnected levels of service: the College SAS teams and the University-wide SAS teams, work collaboratively to deliver simple, timely, efficient, and innovative student administration services and advice to both students and staff.


About the Role
Flinders University Student Administration Services has an exciting opportunity for a Senior, Achievement and Graduations Officer, who will contribute to the planning and administration of high-quality graduation services to all stakeholders, ensuring graduation services support the University’s objectives and targets. You will be responsible for administering operational requirements, ensuring that the planning, implementation and running of events during the university graduation and presentation ceremonies are undertaken efficiently.

As the Senior Achievement and Graduations Officer, you will have the opportunity to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the graduation space while being accountable for:

  • Interpreting and responding to complex enquiries from stakeholders (including students, parents, University staff, external organisations) and advising staff on policy and operational matters relating to student achievement and graduation services.

  • The business administration and support of graduation matters across the University (completions, degree conferrals, academic documents, prizes, and awards) as well as event management.

  • Identifying and contributing to ongoing improvements to business processes and operational goals including reviews of procedures, processes, training packages and support tools.

With your well-developed collegial communication, interpersonal skills, and approachable nature, you will provide high-quality customer service and establish positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will hit the ground running, proving you can learn quickly and thrive in high- pressure and fast paced environments. You will demonstrate the ability to undertake initiative, establish priorities and meet multiple non-negotiable deadlines, especially during peak times while consistently delivering quality service.

A dynamic and adaptable individual with knowledge and experience in the higher education sector, will possess the following attributes:

  • Experience in coordination and provision of support services in a large, diverse and dynamic environment, and the ability to provide advice and recommendation on operational matters to senior management.

  • Well-developed computing skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including experience in using student information systems and related software.

  • Completion of a degree or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
