  • Commencement Salary: $73,341 (pro rata at 0.4 FTE) per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role  

We are seeking a part-time (0.4 FTE) Senior Academic Services Officer to join the Research Services team within UniSA Creative. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with key stakeholders, resolution of issues and the consistent interpretation and application of the University’s academic administration policies and procedures within the Academic Unit, and undertaking administrative activities associated with the delivery of the Academic Unit’s programs and its research and consultancy activities.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Provide specialist Academic Unit knowledge and, as required, undertake appropriate research and analysis that contributes to the development of high-quality documentation for the Academic Unit’s new grant and research proposal submissions 
  • In collaboration with the Team Leader: Academic Services provide administrative support to researchers and research leaders to ensure delivery of research and consultancy projects 
  • Liaise with the relevant Marketing team in relation to the coordination of the Academic Unit’s research events program and participate in the organisation of Academic Unit based events, in consultation with the appropriate representatives of the Academic Unit 
  • Provide support to the Program Services Manager, Dean of Research, researchers and academic supervisors, as well as supporting HDR student administration 
  • Coordinate the compilation of research data for the University’s research publication collection and research performance assessment, and other external reporting requirements (e.g. Excellence in Research for Australia) 


Essential Skills and Experience  

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience 
  • Demonstrated previous experience working in a senior administrative position in a complex organisation, involving the provision of advice and recommendations to senior staff 
  • Highly developed research and analytical skills and experience in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures 
  • Highly developed organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and projects within tight timelines 
  • High level verbal and interpersonal skills including experience in liaising with people at all levels both internal and external to an organisation to deliver quality customer service
