About the team  

The University Secretariat is responsible for the oversight and coordination of formal corporate and academic governance structures of the University.  Staff provide an executive, advisory and consultative service to the Senate and its standing committees, the University Executive, Chair of Academic Board, Deans and university employees on University legislation, policies and procedures. 

About the opportunity  

As the appointee you will be part of the University Secretariat under direction of the University Secretary and provide high level executive and administrative support to the senior staff within the Secretariat particularly the Academic Secretary.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Formally demonstrated computing skills with particular proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email and the internet
  • Substantial relevant senior administrative experience including provision of executive officer or committee services support
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Good research skills
  • Experience working in a University environment or similar large or complex organisation
  • Proficiency in electronic election software e.g. Simply Voting (desirable)
  • Proficiency in board management software e.g. Diligent Boards, Board Effect or similar (desirable)

About you  

You will be highly organised and responsive to instruction on the University’s established systems and processes.  Additionally, you will demonstrate the ability to work independently, show initiative and exercise judgement.  You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and work productively as part of the Secretariat team.
