About the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Student Enrichment, you will oversee and coordinate the faculty’s scholarships and prize program for enrolled (current) students.

This integral role comprises the development, administration, promotion and co-ordination of the faculty’s awards programs for graduate coursework and PhD research students.

You will also provide advice to prospective applicants on the Faculty’s scholarship and prize program as well as ensure that all scholarships funding is managed accurately and complies with the requirements of the scholarship and/or trust deeds.

You will ensure adhere to the scholarship entitlements within the guidelines of the University’s specific contractual obligations and responsibilities in relation to the execution of scholarships and prizes.

You will set up administrative processes to ensure the effective selection of scholarship and prize recipients, monitoring the progress of scholarship and prize holders and payment of any financial aspect of the scholarship/prize and ensuring any reporting or other requirements associated with the scholarship or prize are fulfilled.

Critical to the success of this role is your ability to engage various stakeholders and to coordinate a wide range of communication activities to promote the Faculty scholarships and prizes in consultation with academic division leaders and other stakeholders.

The position works closely with Faculty’s academic support officers, finance business partners, and other stakeholders to fulfil the requirements of the role.

About You:

Naturally you will be capable of demonstrating your prior record of achievement in the following:

  • tertiary qualification or an advanced diploma with subsequent work experience or an equivalent combination of experience in a similar role in a tertiary environment
  • excellent attention to detail and accuracy executing tasks across all aspects of administration, including numeracy
  • ability to work collaboratively, positively, and flexibly both in a team and independently to achieve results
  • demonstrated commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service
  • excellent interpersonal skills, to enable effective liaison with a wide range of internal and external clients and stakeholders at a variety of levels
  • excellent organisational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple demands whilst prioritise workloads to ensure the timely delivery of activities
  • ability to work autonomously and as a team member to prioritise work and achieve outcomes

Additionally, it would be desirable (but not necessary) if you if you also had experience in relation to any of the following:

  • administrative experience in tertiary educational administration
  • experience in event management or project coordination
  • knowledge of the University’s systems’, i.e. StudentOne, LMS (Learning Management System), Scholarship Studentship Portal, CiA, MatrixCMS,  SmartyGrants, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
