  • Commencement Salary: $70,476 pro rata per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

Reporting to the Director: Samstag Museum of Art, you will be responsible for coordinating Samstag Museum of Art events and public programs, as well as supporting the Samstag Museum of Art’s communications and marketing activities and academic engagement programs.

Opening in 2007, Samstag is recognised nationally as one of Australia’s leading university art museums for its bold and creative artistic programming, innovation and distinction through its four key program areas comprising: 

  • An annual artistic program of exhibitions and complementary public activities, including publications, lectures and gallery talks
  • Responsibility for the management of works of art on campus
  • Developing and facilitating academic liaison and engagement projects and workshops, including management of the South Australian School of Art (SASA) Gallery and;
  • Management of UniSA’s prestigious Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarships

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Post-secondary qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and skills such as previous experience working in art museums and/or galleries
  • Experience coordinating gallery public programs and events
  • Demonstrated experience developing promotional material and managing works of art images
  • Highly developed organisational skills to manage multiple priorities within tight timelines in a complex environment characterised by competing demands
  • High level verbal and interpersonal skills including experience in liaising with people at all levels within and external to an organisation
