The Researcher Education and Development team sits within the Adelaide Graduate Research School (AGRS) and the Division of Research and Innovation and offers a suite of workshops, courses, events, online training, and resources to meet the personal, professional, and career development needs of research students, supervisors and researchers  at the University of Adelaide.

Working under general direction, the Researcher Development Officer assists the Manager, Researcher Education and Development on matters relating to HDR student, researcher, and HDR Supervisor training and development. This position coordinates a wide range of training events, manages data and systems to track and record participation, contributes to regular reviews of student progress to ensure students are adhering to and meeting program requirements, manages communications with students, staff, and providers, and provides advice in accordance with the relevant program requirements, guidelines, and procedures. This position also provides administrative and operational support to the Manager, Researcher Education and Development.

 To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated previous research experience and/or experience with researcher training.
  • Ability to evaluate, interpret, and advise on complex rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately, with attention to detail.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to confidently present training and information sessions in person or online
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in a positive, constructive and professional manner and interact effectively with a diverse range of people and cultures to deliver client centric results.

Qualifications:

  • A higher degree by research (i.e. PhD or MPhil) would be highly regarded
  • Extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
