  • Salary: HEO 5 $73,341 - $86,642 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role 

The Research Projects Management Officer is responsible for the administration of and accurate interpretation of relevant guidelines in the management of research grants and projects to ensure ongoing compliance with the funding and funding bodies’ requirements as they relate to the research grant or projects. 

You will contribute to successful research project outcomes by taking accountability for inbound and outbound project documentation, projects reporting and analysis, monitoring of project progress, and other general research projects management activities.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Provide high level administrative support, advice, resolution and guidance in response to queries associated with post award research project management 
  • Provide accurate interpretation of funding guidelines and initial assessment of contractual obligations associated with the research projects
  • Oversee the project information stored in the corporate Research Management Information System (RMIS) to support various corporate reporting processes including academic promotion, marketing of research activity through staff homepages and contributing to annual HERDC data collection.
  • Monitor project performance and associated milestones to ensure compliance and fulfilment of the award conditions and funding requirements
  • Support the Senior Research Projects Management Officer to develop, implement and maintain efficient and effective research project management processes and procedures

Essential Skills and Experience 
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and relevant experience and/or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience in contract and/or research projects administration
  • Proven skills and experience in providing high level administrative support for project (preferably research projects) delivery, including experience in meeting deadlines, prioritising competing demands and using initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand contracts, financial documentation and reporting requirements
  • A track record of making key contributions to customer focussed service delivery across multi-functional teams and units
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others, including demonstrated experience working effectively with people at all levels, both internal and external to the organisation
