As the Research Program Director, you will be working closely with the NCSEHE Director and will be primarily responsible for leading the development, successful execution, and monitoring of the delivery outcomes of the NCSEHE Strategic Research Priorities Plan. 

This includes proactively and effectively consulting with stakeholders across operational functions of the NCSEHE and research-relevant spheres to ensure the smooth transition towards trialling, evaluating, implementing, and monitoring policies and interventions, with considerations for existing resources and research projects. You will enable the translation and communication of equity research outcomes to the broader higher education sector to promote the development of evidence-based policy and institutional good practice.

Through your leadership and integrated research experience, you will build and maintain collaborative partnerships with senior executives, government and funding bodies, as well as develop a network of adjunct researchers and partners to promulgate the Centre’s reputation for excellence, independence, and integrity in research output while maximising the research projects best possible outcomes.

We are looking for someone with…

  • A doctoral qualification with an outstanding record of publication on equity-relevant issues, in high-quality peer-reviewed journals or outputs in creative outlets.
  • A strong track record of leading and managing research projects, including experience in project design and implementation.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior academic management and governance.
  • Demonstrated managerial expertise at a research institute, department, or faculty level.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster and promote the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating research to policy makers and in translating research into practical outcomes.
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder research institutions with a public or private interface – Desirable.
