Base Salary $79,717 + 17% superannuation (pro rata)
About the opportunity
The School of Health Sciences within the University of Sydney is looking for a Research Officer to provide research support to a project involving Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The Research Officer will be based in the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health. The project aims to adapt the World Health Organisation’s physical activity guidelines into clinical practice guidelines for health professionals working with people living with TBI across Australia.
The Research Officer will ideally have some experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods and be required to work with the research team to conduct, code and analyse data from focus groups with people with TBI and other stakeholder groups, and update systematic reviews as part of guideline adaptation.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
organise and conduct (or assist with conducting) focus groups with people with TBI and other stakeholder groups
conduct coding and analysing qualitative data supported by an experienced qualitative researcher
update systematic reviews supported by a postdoctoral research fellow
assist with writing and submitting ethic applications
assist with the process of adapting physical activity guidelines
assist with ad hoc tasks in other project teams as required
About you
tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Psychology, Public Health or similar
some experience with qualitative and, ideally, quantitative research methods
some experience coding qualitative data
experience with NVivo and REDCap software packages will be advantageous
good written and verbal communication skills
able to work both autonomously and as a collegial team member
able to manage multiple project demands and prioritise tasks.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
