(HE06) $82,879-$89,525 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed term position for a 2 year period to commence asap.

We are seeking to appoint a Research Officer to join the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine, to collaborate with SARDI, and farming system organisations to manage and implement a research project on pasture species for regional South Australia.

This project aims to test and demonstrate the potential to increase the length of pasture growth phase and the ground cover achieved, through new pasture types and changed management.

Under general direction, the successful candidate will be required to manage project activities, liaise with stakeholders regarding key milestones, sample research experiments and analyse, interpret and report on research findings.

The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and be comfortable with writing reports and delivering presentations.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated success in design and management of field experiments.
  • Demonstrated interpretation and analysis of data to inform future agricultural management.
  • Effective time management in working with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication.
  • An understanding of Australian low to medium rainfall crop and pasture systems.(Desirable)

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor degree in Sciences or Agricultural Sciences (or related discipline) and have obtained relevant work experience.
