About This Opportunity 

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Officer/Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the dedicated research team within our world-leading School of Pharmacy. Our School of Pharmacy is one of the largest Schools of this type in Australia with over 50 academic staff (including joint appointments with the community, hospital and government pharmacies) who are widely published internationally and have extensive research backgrounds.

This position is part of a Medical Research Future Fund project: Knowledge brokers for evidence translation to improve quality use of medicines in residential aged care . As a Research Officer/Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will be part of the UQ team of researchers working in collaboration with Monash University and other project partners, to improve quality use of medicines for people living in residential aged care.

Located at Brisbane’s Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE) precinct, adjacent to hospital, research and industry partners, this is an exciting opportunity for you to develop your expertise and emerging research profile in quality use of medicines. At this level, you will also contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students (as appropriate) and participate in and contribute to service and engagement roles and activities.

About You  

Our ideal candidate will have completed, or nearly completed, a PhD in a health-related area, or be an experienced health professional with some experience in research or project management.

In addition, you will possess:

  • An emerging profile in research in a health-related area.

  • Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.

  • Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.

  • Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities.

What We Can Offer 

This is a part-time (60-80% negotiable), fixed-term position for 2 years at Academic Level A. 

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $72,144 - $96,530 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $84,408 - $112,940 per annum. 

The following flexible employment options may be available for this role: part-time percentage negotiable, some working from home; variable start or finish times.
