PRIMARY DETAIL

Seeking a Research Officer to embark in a new project grant within Telehealth and General practice.

THE ROLE

  • Salary Package: From the pro-rata equivalent of $86,851 to $95,869p.a. (HEW Level 6), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Appointment Type:  Part time (17.5 hours per week), fixed term position for 15months.
  • Macquarie University (North Ryde) location

The Primary care and Wellbeing program is seeking a Research Officer to embark in their research project entitled ‘Telehealth in General Practice’ following successful acquisition of their grant. The role will have you involved in management and correspondence of ethics applications, and literature searches. You will work in collaboration with the team in writing or assisting with writing academic research papers (journal articles, book chapters, media articles) for the project. The role will require you to assist with data management and analysis, including qualitative conversational and thematic analysis where required.

About You

You will be an empathetic, organised individual with experience in research administration. You will be able to work independently and as part of a committed team of research staff. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a keen attention to detail. You will possess excellent skills in the Microsoft Office suite and have experience in working with online database systems and data analysis software.

  • Bachelor’s degree in health or communication or linguistics or related discipline and research experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience in research projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a multidisciplinary medical and research team (including recruitment, assessment and follow-up of participants).
  • Experience within conducting literature searches and proof-reading academic research papers.
  • Demonstrated excellence in electronic data entry and information management systems along with the knowledge of EMRs and paper medical records.
  • Demonstrated excellence in computer skills including MS Office, internet and database.
  • Experience working on a related research project or within general practice (desirable).
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously on a research project(desirable).
