The Opportunity

The Transfusion Research Unit is seeking to appoint a Research Officer, Acute and Critical Care to perform a range of research-related activities to support the delivery of outcomes for the unit. These activities include preparation of ethics submissions and annual reports, preparation and dissemination of newsletters and site reports, liaising with hospital sites and coordinating steering committee and other meetings.

The Research Officer operates with a focus on excellence in process and judgement and provision of sound and timely advice and support to the Transfusion Research Unit.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for:

  • Data extraction, database management and site recruitment, as well as the preparation of presentations, reports and publications
  • Supporting the achievement of research outcomes by undertaking a range of research and administrative support tasks
  • Keeping abreast of developments, activities and protocols in area of expertise
  • Complying with established research methodology, policy, protocols, OHS and regulatory requirements
  • Participating in and implementing continuous improvement activities relating to project, research or technical procedures and quality assurance standards

Ideally, the appointee will have strong organisational skills with sound analytical, technical and data analysis skills as well as demonstrated project administration skills with the ability to support research projects.
