About the opportunity:

The Centre for Applied Water Science (CAWS) at the University of Canberra leads the way in urban water research. Our committed team of scientists is dedicated to understanding and tackling the pivotal challenges of urban water management, with a specific focus on the quality of stormwater and its repercussions on urban ecosystems.

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our dynamic team of urban water scientists on a fixed-term research position. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with other team members, contributing to ongoing research programs while also exploring opportunities to develop new areas of inquiry. The role involves fieldwork, chemical analysis, and active participation in the preparation of reports and scientific publications while fostering collaboration with an extensive spectrum of stakeholders including the ACT Government

To be considered you will need experience:

  • Project Management experience,
  • Strong laboratory practices
  • A PhD in a related discipline such as Chemistry or Freshwater Ecology.
  • Experience in laboratory analysis including quality assurance.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills.
  • Willingness to undertake fieldwork.
  • Very good written and oral communication skill.
  • A full manual driver’s licence is required for this role.
