Who you are

We are seeking an experienced researcher with a proven track record of expertise in thermoelectric materials, including their structural analysis and property evaluation. 

What you’ll do

As a Research Fellow, you will conduct research related to waste heat recovery based on thermoelectric technology. In particular, you will be tasked with pioneering advancements in thermoelectric technology to harvest wasted energy generated from fossil fuel usage. This will involve:

  • Developing innovative strategies to enhance thermoelectric properties.
  • Establishing scalable synthesis methods for mass production to reduce the overall materials cost.
  • Exploring computational methods to provide guidance for the efficient assembly of thermoelectric devices.

As part of this role, you will undertake independent teaching and research in your discipline or field of education however this role will have a higher research workload with minimal teaching.

What will help you succeed

Together with your doctoral or master’s qualification in the relevant disciplines such as Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics, with a strong focus on thermoelectric materials, you will have:

  • Professional experience or deep knowledge in a relevant field, showcasing competency and familiarity with the subject matter.
  • Demonstrated teaching and research expertise in thermoelectric materials, including structural analysis and property evaluation.
  • Professional experience or deep knowledge in a relevant field, showcasing competency and familiarity with the subject matter.
  • High level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, relating well to people at all levels using diplomacy, tact and sound judgement, with an ability to build constructive and effective relationships.

Salary: Total remuneration range $125,372 to $148,185 pa (includes salary range of $105,933 to $125,209 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading).
