  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus

About the role

As Research Fellow, you will be part of the newly awarded CRC-P grant between RMIT and Novatti titled ‘Fast and Secure Crypto Payments for E‐Commerce Merchants’. You will design, implement, and test the new generation fraud detection in large-scale systems, engage with customers and external stakeholders and mentor higher degree by research candidates.

To be successful in this position as Research Fellow, you will have:

  • A PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Extensive research and/or industry experience in cybersecurity, preferably in systems/networks.

  • Extensive experience in large-scale systems design, implementation and testing.

  • Track record and recognition for quality research outputs in the areas of cybersecurity, blockchain systems, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links.

  • A strong work ethic, and the ability to work well independently, and as a member of a broader team, including with industrial partners

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and/or supervise higher degree by research candidates.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with and supervising higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications:

A completed PhD in Computer Science is required for this role. If you are enrolled or studying towards a PhD, you will be considered for Research Assistant at Academic Level A.
