The Opportunity

Ignite your career as a Clinical Neuropsychologist/Research Fellow in the cutting-edge Neuroimmunology, Neuroinflammation, and Neurological Diseases Lab at Monash University. This unique 1FTE role combines a 0.4FTE post-doctoral research position and a 0.6FTE clinical role at Alfred Health, forming the foundation of a clinician-academic position. The clinical role requires a AHPRA registered clinical neuropsychologist who is qualified to do clinical work, and has qualifications for a research postdoctoral position to be combined.

The role requires the individual to:

  • Hold general registration as a psychologist with PBA/AHRPRA
  • Hold PBA/AHPRA endorsement in clinical neuropsychology or be eligible to enter into a PBA/AHRPRA approved registrar program in clinical neuropsychology
  • The academic role requires a candidate with a PhD in psychology or neuropsychology. The two roles are for one candidate, and therefore a candidate applying to this position should also apply to the Alfred position above. 

    Reporting to Associate Professor Mastura Monif, you'll be at the forefront of neuropsychology research, focusing on autoimmune encephalitis, CART cell therapy neurotoxicity, and other neuroinflammatory diseases.

    Responsibilities include driving your research within the lab, conducting cognitive assessments, and contributing to the Australian Autoimmune Encephalitis project. Collaborate with the team, supervise students, and actively engage in grant applications. This role is ideal for a neuropsychologist with a passion for clinical-academic work, diagnostic challenges, and translational research.
