La Trobe University is seeking to appoint outstanding emerging scholars in the field of autism research within the world class Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre (OTARC). Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellows are expected to make independent and original contributions to research which have a significant impact in one or more of the following research program areas: Identification and Diagnosis, Supports and Practices for Daily Living, Educational and Vocational Engagement, and Health and Wellbeing. These positions will work as a member of a growing team of research and professional staff at the centre towards creating knowledge that promotes the best outcomes for Autistic people, their families and carers. In addition, opportunities exist for these positions to be jointly appointed with either the School of Education or the School of Psychology and Public Health at La Trobe University.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have an emerging  research record aligned with one of OTARC’s four research program areas.  All applicants should demonstrate evidence of a publication track record and external income success commensurate with either a Research Fellow (Level B) or Senior Research Fellow (Level C) appointment. The successful candidate will be able to explain how they will develop an outstanding program of research in an area of high importance to the Autistic and autism communities. This is an exciting opportunity for an established and/or aspiring research leader with ambition to grow and shape a team in a novel, innovative and dynamic research environment.

The University’s Health and Safety Procedure – COVID-19 Vaccination and Other Measures, requires staff engaged to perform work onsite at La Trobe University to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are exempt from being vaccinated due to a recognised medical contraindication.  This position will require the incumbent to work onsite.  As such, an offer of employment will be conditional upon the applicant being Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 or medically exempt from receiving a COVID-19 vaccination, and providing satisfactory evidence of their vaccination or exemption status to the University.
