The Opportunity
Are you a highly motivated researcher with advanced skills in bioinformatics? Do you have a passion for unravelling the complexities of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and related disorders? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the field.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for conducting single and multi-omic analyses of deeply phenotyped individuals with MS or related disorders. Working within the MS and Neuroimmunology Genomics and Prognostics team, you'll collaborate with world leaders in MS prognostics and outcomes research. Projects will focus on precision medicine, prognostics, and women's health in the context of central neuroinflammation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent and team research, producing conference papers and publications
- Supervise research-support staff and provide guidance to junior research colleagues
- Contribute to research proposal submissions and seek funding opportunities
- Engage in professional activities, including attending conferences and seminars
- Co-supervise higher degree research students and seek out funding opportunities
- Other administrative and teaching duties as directed
Key Selection Criteria:
- Doctoral qualification in relevant discipline or equivalent research experience
- Strong statistical analysis and manuscript preparation skills with a track record of refereed publications
- Experience supervising and mentoring research staff and postgraduate students
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team with excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of computational biology or translational genomics
- Advanced computer skills including R, Python, Bioconductor, GitHub, and HPC use
- Experience implementing multi-omics and machine learning in a genomic context
- Wet lab experience in basic molecular biology and flow cytometry
