(Level A) $71,401 to $96,007 or (Level B) $100,933 to $119,391 or (Level C) $123,075 to $141,537 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed term opportunity available for three years.

We are looking for a Research Fellow (at Level A, B or C) to work with a team at both University of Adelaide and CSIRO on water issues for the next three years.

The research position will work specifically on groundwater aquifer recharge, water banking, water markets and water policy in the Murray-Darling Basin. The position is full-time, based in the School of Economics and Public Policy at the University of Adelaide, for the next three years, though we will consider part-time applications.

Some intra and interstate travel will be required in this role.

To be successful at Level A you will need:

• A PhD in economics or a related discipline with a quantitative research focus or equivalent qualifications or research experience.
• Knowledge of environmental, agricultural, resource and/or water economics.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research, where applicable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across disciplines and collaborate with a wide range of professionals in the university, government, industry and research sectors.

In addition to the above, to be successful at Level B you will need:

• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, including planning and leading research in a team, where applicable.
• A track record of high-quality publications relative to opportunity.
• Some knowledge of issues in Australian water resources, water markets, hydrology and water policy (desirable).

In addition to the above, to be successful at Level C you will need:

• A demonstrated strong track record of high-quality publications relative to opportunity.
• Demonstrated ability to write and lead successful bids for competitive external funding (Category 1-4) to support individual and collaborative research activities.
• Advanced knowledge of issues in Australian water resources, water markets, hydrology and water policy (desirable).
