The Opportunity

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead research and translational studies for the Australian Eating Disorders Research and Translation Centre group within the School of Psychological Sciences and the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health. The Centre aims to promote co-production based research and translational activities that improve the understanding and wellbeing of people living with eating disorders. Funding support may be available for up to two years for this research.

This position will involve planning and conducting new research and translational projects using cognitive neuroscience and translational science tools (e.g. intervention development and evaluation methods), attending national and international research-related meetings and contributing to publications.

The Research Fellow will work within the Addiction and Impulsivity Research (AIR) lab , which hosts a diverse research community including basic, clinical and industry-focused fellows and students. Our research is highly applied by using mechanistic studies to inform intervention development and implementation. Thus, the position will provide ample opportunities for clinical translation and generation of impact and value-based outcomes.

We are seeking someone with a current or upcoming doctoral qualification in Psychology, Neuroscience or related fields, coupled with experience in conducting research involving human participants. Proficiency in utilizing human neuroscience, clinical and digital tools is highly recommended, along with coding skills in MATLAB and/or R.

If you believe this role aligns with your professional aspirations, we eagerly look forward to receiving your application.

Diversity is one of our greatest strengths at Monash. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people with disabilities, neurodiverse people, and people of all genders, sexualities, and age groups.
