About the opportunity:
The NHMRC Healthy Environments And Lives (HEAL) Network, a collaborative effort involving more than 30 organizations across Australia, aims to drive research, facilitate knowledge exchange, and translate findings into policies and practices that enhance health, strengthen the Australian healthcare system, and promote environmental sustainability.
With funding support from the NHMRC, UC has the opportunity to assess the impact of wildfire smoke on children's health in Southeast Asia and evaluate climate change adaptation solutions.
As the incoming Research Fellow, you will join the HEAL Global Research Centre, reporting directly to the HEAL Centre Director. In this role, you will contribute to at least two projects focused on evaluating the health effects of environmental exposures and air pollution resulting from climate change in Australia, India, and Southeast Asia.
You will be responsible for nurturing collaborative relationships, serving as a role model for your peers, and fostering effective partnerships across various sectors including private and public, industry, and the community.
Additionally, this position entails supervising postgraduate students and engaging in productive collaborations with colleagues at local, regional, national, and international levels.
Essential qualifications include proficiency in academic writing and data analysis, supported by a track record of peer-reviewed publications and a PhD that is finalised before the 1st of July.
Desirable attributes include prior experience in facilitating air quality monitoring fieldwork and managing international projects.
