The Curtin enAble Institute within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University conducts interdisciplinary applied health research that aims to help people of all ages and abilities lead healthier, happier, and meaningful lives. Our programmes of research are co-designed with consumers and providers, ensuring that they are responsive to the needs and priorities of people who need these services and feasible to implement in practice.

In this role you will

  • Manage a project aimed at address gaps in access to mental health services for adolescents in WA. You will contribute to project design and execution (interviews and group discussions), data analysis and dissemination of findings.
  • Engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including consumer reference groups.
  • Contribute to and lead applications for future funding.
  • Prepare journal articles and conference papers suitable for publication in top-tier outlets.
  • Supervise postgraduate and undergraduate students as appropriate.
  • Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above.

We are looking for someone with

  • A PhD or significant progress towards completing a PhD with a background in psychology and/or mental health.
  • An undergraduate degree in psychology, epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research, public health or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis including commonly used and complex statistical multivariable modelling techniques.
  • Demonstrated track record of publications.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
