The Opportunity

The Monash Proteomics & Metabolomics Facility (MPMF) is a mass spectrometry-driven analytical platform that provides Monash researchers, as well as non-Monash academic and commercial organisations, access to sophisticated proteomic, metabolomic and lipidomic technologies. Our services allow the accurate identification, characterization and quantification of proteins and other biomolecules isolated from diverse sources for a plethora of studies and research projects.

The MPMF is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow (Clinical Proteomics) to conduct complex proteomic experiments for both internal and external/commercial users of the facility, predominantly in the field of clinical proteomics. This includes (i) proteomic sample preparation, (ii) mass spectrometric data acquisition, (iii) data analysis and (iv) generation of reports, in addition to designing proteomic experiments, preparing scientific publications and implementing new protocols and novel methodologies. Moreover, this position will heavily contribute to establishing and operating MPMF’s new “Clinical Proteomics Node” located at the Monash Health Translation Precinct.

As the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative proteomic approaches and strong knowledge of proteomic sample preparation and data analysis as well as proficiency in handling large datasets including bioinformatic and biostatistics skills.

Ideally, you will have a doctoral qualification in mass spectrometry, proteomics, biochemistry, protein chemistry or a closely related discipline, or equivalent qualifications or research experience.

If you are ready to join a world top 100 university and enhance your career, then we strongly encourage you to apply!

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
