The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a Research Fellow to join the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases within the School of Translational Medicine. The incumbent will join the Leukaemia Epigenetics Laboratory investigating aberrant epigenetic pathways in haematological malignancies. The project involves the exploration of the precise chromatin events that sustain the growth of blood cancers and the determinants of therapy response and resistance for compounds in clinical development.
The successful applicant will have a doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline (molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry) or a closely related field. In addition to this, the position requires a research scientist skilled in various cell biology assays and cutting-edge genomic techniques. The successful candidate should possess some knowledge of NextGen sequencing technologies and/or a strong background in chromatin biology and/or cancer research. The person will be expected to conduct rigorous, valid and ethical research both independently and as part of the research team. The person will also be expected to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, and technical staff
