About the role:
As the Research Fellow, you will undertake a wide range of cutting-edge research activities associated with Professor Anne Castles' ARC Australian Laureate Fellowship grant, 'Literacy in adolescence: The next major challenge in the science of reading". You will contribute to the engagement and impact of the ARC project by carrying out ground-breaking research, translating that into evidence-based programs in secondary schools, and building partnerships with key stakeholders. You may participate in assessment development, recruitment of participating schools, stakeholder engagement activities, supervision and mentoring of research assistants and authoring/co-authoring high-quality publications. All activities are conducted with a view to contributing to and strengthening the University's research profile.
The successful applicant will have:
- A PhD in psychology, cognitive science, education, linguistics, speech pathology or related discipline
- Demonstrated capacity to conduct collaborative and independent research resulting in high quality and high impact research outputs
- Willingness and capacity to develop working relationships with a range of stakeholders associated with the Laureate Project

What we offer:

- Total remuneration valued to $134,709 - $158,885 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $113,831 - $134,397 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level B), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
- Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
