The Opportunity

Are you passionate about understanding the complexities of adolescent mental health? We're seeking a motivated researcher to join our project focused on identifying neuroimaging predictors of future non-suicidal self-injury using the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study dataset.

As a Researcher, you will have the opportunity to work with a large longitudinal dataset and contribute to ground-breaking research in adolescent mental health. Responsibilities include processing and analysing existing ABCD data, as well as writing up and publishing findings. You'll also have access to advanced training, mentorship opportunities, and support for developing your independent research program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research independently or as part of a team, producing conference papers and publications
• Attend conferences and seminars in the field of expertise
• Perform limited administrative functions related to research
• Contribute to teaching related to research projects
• Design experiments and operate advanced laboratory equipment
• Attend meetings associated with research and organizational units
• Provide advice to postgraduate students within your research field

Key Selection Criteria:

• Doctoral qualification in psychology, neuroscience, or a relevant discipline
• Strong analytical and manuscript preparation skills with a track record of research publications
• Ability to solve complex problems with innovation and discretion
• Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Computer literacy and proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office and scripting/programming languages (bash, MATLAB, python)
• Familiarity with neuroimaging processing and analysis, including fMRI
• Interest in non-suicidal self-injury, suicide, or emotion dysregulation
• Knowledge of ICH-GCP principles
