The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available in the Faculty of Law for a Research Fellow. The position will be based in the Australian Centre for Justice Innovation. The successful candidate will contribute to a new program of research on access to justice, technology and family violence. The Research Fellow is expected to take a leading role in research design, data collection, data analysis and writing up research results. There is flexibility in the program to accommodate a range of different skills and experiences the Research Fellow might bring, including but not limited to:

  • Research experience in gendered violence, family or intimate partner violence, or criminal justice response to violence against women
  • Qualitative and/or quantitative research experience
  • Experience in co-production, co-design, human-centred design or participatory research methods
  • Legal practising experience relevant to the family violence field

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • The conduct of research under limited supervision independently and as a member of a team and the production of high-quality publications from that research
  • Co-supervision or, where appropriate, supervision of honours or postgraduate research projects within the fields of the staff member's area of research
  • Development of research-related material for teaching, research translation or other purposes with appropriate guidance from other staff
  • Occasional contributions to teaching in relation to the staff member’s research

The successful applicant will have a Doctoral qualification in a relevant field (such as Law, Psychology, Social Sciences, Sociology, Criminology or Anthropology), or equivalent qualifications and research experience.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
