About The Position:

The Research Events and Engagement Officer is responsible for providing high quality administrative support across a range of DSC Research events. DSC Research events include research conferences, symposia, industry research events, and research planning activities.

Under the direction of the Senior Coordinator, Research Operations, the Research Events and Engagement Officer will book event venues, guests, travel, catering, AV, facilities, marketing and promotion, distribution of event materials and collation of feedback. The incumbent will establish and maintain consistent systems for the management of research events, resources, day-to-day operations, and services.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing administrative and logistical support in the organisation and delivery of a range of events. Highly developed organisational and planning skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks. Highly developed interpersonal skills and a proven ability to deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, flexibly, and collaboratively with colleagues within and beyond the immediate work unit, positively contributing to the achievement of organisational goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to deliver a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated digital literacy.
  • Previous events experience within the higher education sector/project management experience is desirable.
