About the Role

We have an exciting new position for a Research Degree Admissions Officer to join UniSA’s Student and Academic Services team.

You will provide advice on admissions to research degree candidates and support the admissions processes. The position ensures compliance with admissions criteria and timely assessment and offer of research degree places to students. It also provides support to the Team Leader: Research Degree Admissions by being the first point of contact and reference for complex admissions enquiries, providing support in the review of business processes and supporting in the provision of high-quality service and stakeholder engagement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate advice in relation to admissions queries from applicants, students and University staff
  • Assess research degree applications, ensuring compliance and consistent application of legislation and University policies and procedures
  • Allocate University, government and external scholarships in accordance with University policy and procedures
  • Issue outgoing offers, including composing and despatching letters of offer, updating applicant records and enrolling students
  • Lead by example within the team in the delivery of a high-quality service to students and University staff


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated achievement in the provision of high quality, responsive customer service that involves strong interpersonal, conflict management and problem solving skills
  • Ability and commitment to contributing to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of business processes that deliver quality service
  • High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to work with students and staff at all levels, including the ability to give and receive feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and interpret policies and procedures
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience, skills and knowledge
