About the Role

The Research Coordinators are responsible for providing expert research support and services to designated Academic Units. In this role you will work closely with researchers to identify and develop opportunities to achieve diversification of funding for research and provide support to build researcher capability and reputation.

The Research Coordinator facilitates and actively supports processes across the research lifecycle, interfacing with RIS teams that manage pre-award, research contracting, research project management and research ethics and compliance. Together all Research Coordinators work as a team to develop inter-disciplinary research opportunities across the Academic Units to achieve the University’s strategic research goals.

We are seeking to appoint one Research Coordinator on a continuing basis, and one fixed term contract until October 2022.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation and monitoring of research strategies and processes to ensure delivery of strategic objectives and enterprise targets
  • Act as the liaison between Research and Innovation Services and the Academic Units
  • Support the identification of grant and funding opportunities and implement strategies and initiatives to support the development of targeted grant and funding applications
  • Provide expert and strategic advice for the Academic Units’ planning and review cycle as it relates to research and contribute to the creation and review of the strategic plan

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Skills and experience working in a senior level administrative or project role and understanding of research in a University or a similar environment, including research systems and strategic directions in research
  • High level research and analytical skills to undertake complex problem solving and planning
  • Ability to build constructive relationships with researchers at different career stages and to identify opportunities for research and career development
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively within a team and with other groups across the University
