The Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre (FBICRC)

Led by Curtin University, FBICRC is an independent centre where industry, government and researchers come together to create the tools, technologies, and skills to grow the role of battery storage in Australia’s electricity grids and make Australia a larger player in global battery value chains.

Australian minerals are critical to the global battery technology revolution. Our resources, thinking, innovation and expertise will enable us to seize this once in a generation, national opportunity to develop the next wave of battery industries.

Our research projects help expand Australia’s battery minerals and chemicals production, develop opportunities for specialist battery manufacture, support the deployment of batteries to households, communities, and industry, and optimise the circular for the use and re-use of battery systems.
