Position Summary:

The CareSearch Project consolidates online palliative care knowledge for health professionals, people needing palliative care and their families, and for the general community. We enable access to this information via two major websites, the CareSearch website and the palliAGED website. The CareSearch Project also works closely with a number of other projects within and external to Flinders University to maximise impact within the sector.

The Research Associate (CareSearch Community) will undertake research in palliative care under the direction of the Chief Investigators. In working with Chief Investigators and research team, the incumbent will apply their aged care knowledge and/or experience in evidence‐based practice to assist in leading the design and execution of the palliAGED research project. Activities will include identification, critical analysis, and written synthesis of research evidence in palliative care and maintaining the palliAGED website. This will include development of evidence‐based resources to support the palliative care needs of diverse population groups through person centred care.

The Research Associate will also take a major role in developing resources suitable for the broader community and relevant to normalising death and dying. This will require collaboration with end user groups and development of written materials.

Please note: A National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the University will be required by Flinders University before the successful applicant can commence in this position. If you have any queries in this regard, please raise them with the named contact person in this Position Description in the first instance.
