  • Full-time, Fixed Term position for two years

  • Academic Level A or B + 17% Superannuation

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working

About the role

As Research Assistant or Research Fellow, you will carry out high quality independent and/or team research on this Federal Government funded project through the International Clean Innovation Researcher Network (ICIRN) program. This role will be based in the state-of-the-art EV Living Lab.

You will have a strong background in power systems and smart grids with previous experience in DER management strategies. Experience of working with machine learning models and optimisation tools is an advantage.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Extensive research track record with publications in top journals such as IEEE Transactions, Applied Energy, Renewable Energy and alike.

  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work well independently, and as a member of a broader team, including industry partners to meet project outcomes and milestones.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to clearly communicate research results, concepts and knowledge.

  • Demonstrated initiative in research and problem solving.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.

  • Ability to generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.

Qualifications:

A completed (or soon to be completed) PhD in Electrical Engineering is required for this role.
