The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Research Assistant to join us in the School of Education, Culture and Society as a core member of the new ‘Supporting teachers and teaching in the age of AI’ ARC Discovery research project led by Professor Neil Selwyn. The project aims to explore the growing integration of AI tools into secondary schools, and identify ways to support teachers to engage with AI technologies in their classrooms.

As the successful candidate, you will possess in-depth knowledge of social/educational theory and qualitative research methodologies, along with expertise in socio-technical approaches related to AI in educational settings. You will have experience or a keen interest in school-based research, including qualitative case studies and participatory design methods. Strong analytical skills, as well as excellent planning and organisational abilities, are essential.
