  • Part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed term contract until 28 April 2023 based in UniSA Education Futures at the Mawson Lakes campus
  • Commencement Salary: $74,385 pro rata per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

The Research Assistant will contribute to the research efforts of UniSA Education Futures and will undertake research on the translation of the science of learning in real-world learning environments such as schools and museums. Under direction, the Research Assistant will manage data collection, storage and analysis for the research projects associated with the UniSA Connect and UniSA Catalyst programs. The Research Assistant may also have a role in the development and delivery of Teacher Professional Learning associated with the projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Undertake research under routine supervision to achieve project outcomes including: implementation of the project data collection strategies, data management plan, and routine data analysis. Maintain ‘data dashboard’ for school partners in the project
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of teacher professional learning, for schools associated with the project
  • Assist in preparing or contributing to the preparation of refereed journal publications, conference and seminar papers arising from the research
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with relevant research projects
  • Liaise with partners to develop new research partnerships, increase awareness of UniSA programs and pathways, and further develop the connection of UniSA with young people, schools, school associations, teacher professional associations, industry partners, parents and the broader community

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Experience in the delivery of educational programs with school aged children
  • Experience with educational data collection (e.g., focus groups and semi-structured interviews) and analysis
  • Evidence of capacity in data analysis using tools such as SPSS, R and/or qualitative tools such as NVivo
  • High level written, oral and digital communication skills including demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with team members, external parties including schools, industry colleagues and students
