  • Part-time (0.6FTE), 12 month fixed term contract
  • Salary Range: $74,385 - $99,759 pro rata per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role 

The position will contribute to the research efforts of the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre and will conduct research activities related to the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre’s strategic agenda and that of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Federal Office) and other projects as directed.

In collaboration with UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Federal Office), the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre develops and undertakes a broad program of health care research in the areas of clinical, population health and health systems/services that inform: 

  • The Australian Nursing and Midwifery SA Federation  (Federal Office) strategic plan; and 
  • The UniSA research and innovation strategic plan. This focus builds onto and complements the University of South Australia’s extensive interests in other areas of nursing and midwifery, epidemiology and population health, health sciences, and cell biology, drug discovery, and drug delivery research. 

Core Responsibilities 
  • Contribute to the planning of research by participating in planning sessions, offering new ideas on research directions, reviewing relevant literature and other sources of information, and attending meetings as required
  • Undertake data extraction, critical appraisal, analysis, and reporting as required
  • Undertake and assist in activities such as data collection, the development of ethics applications, analysis, and reporting, as required
  • Contribute to the dissemination of new knowledge by drafting reports, abstracts, scientific papers, and other instruments providing accounts of research undertaking and the findings observed and attending meetings, seminars, and conferences as required
  • Contribute to the preparation and development of grant and tender applications, including literature searches, and other tasks as required  

Essential Skills and Experience 
  • An undergraduate degree or relevant research experience in a health science related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking and reporting evidence syntheses (i.e. systematic reviews, scoping reviews, rapid reviews)
  • An understanding of primary and evidence synthesis research methods and reporting standards
  • Experience in statistical software packages such as SPSS, STATA and Excel
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including an ability to work within a diverse team, and to establish effective relationships that promote the wider objectives of the team, and working in close collaboration with problem solving and efficiency objectives
