  • Two (2) full-time, 12 month fixed term contracts – one in SA, one in WA
  • Commencement Salary: $72,218 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Roles

Two positions available; one based in the UniSA City West campus South Australia, and one based in PERCAN, Western Australia.

These positions are responsible for undertaking research related activities to support the senior research staff within the Australian Centre for Child Protection (ACCP).

Required research activities include proactively supporting and contributing to high quality research, competitive research grant activities, and active participation in research concentrations and other relevant collaborative forums, to deliver high quality research outcomes to meet the Excellence in Research in Australia (ERA) criteria.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide administration support in completing ethics applications for projects; collecting, analysing and preparing data in the development of tender submissions, grant applications, reports and scholarly articles
  • Undertake literature reviews, collect and analyse data and performance statistics, and prepare and draft information and reports independently and as a member of a team
  • Support the publishing and communicating of research outcomes from the Centre to different audiences including by participating and presenting at conferences and seminars
  • Liaise with academics, researchers and other research participants including organising and attending meetings associated with ACCP projects
  • Work with other researchers as part of a team and provide efficient project and administration support to members of the research team

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Honours or Post Graduate Research Degree in a Behavioural, Social Science, Social Work, Education, Health, Policy or related discipline
  • Research, policy or practice experience in an area related to any of the following: child protection, out of home care, child trauma, child sexual abuse or harmful sexual behaviours
  • Demonstrated understanding of qualitative research methods and ability to undertake qualitative data analysis and strong skills in understanding and critiquing the quality of published research studies
  • Demonstrated research writing skills, including an ability to locate, evaluate, compile, and edit relevant literature and research data
  • Excellent initiative, problem solving, time management and organisational skills, including experience in priority setting, the ability to perform multiple tasks, to work productively with limited supervision and within a team environment, and to work to deadlines
