  • Full-time, Fixed Term position until December 2024

  • Salary Academic Level A + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

  • Based at the Bundoora campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About the Role
The Research Assistant will undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy and the work of the Ageing and Immunotherapies (A&I) Lab.  The A&I Lab’s goal is to understand how ageing alters our immune system and use that information to improve immune-based therapies for older patients. We use animal models, tissue samples from donors and in vitro systems to undertake this work.

It is expected that you will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop.

Candidates who require flexible working arrangements due to caring or similar requirements and those with non-traditional career pathways are very welcome to apply.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Strong experience immunological techniques such as leukocyte isolation, cell culture and flow cytometry.

  • Strong experience in basic mouse handling (basic handling, one-handed restraint, tissue harvest).

  • Strong experience with immunological data analysis, using GraphPad Prism and FlowJo.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment.
