The Opportunity

Join the Sivathamboo Group as a Research Assistant and play a crucial role in advancing clinical research related to sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) and autonomic function in epilepsy. Reporting to the Research Fellow in the Department of Neuroscience, you'll be at the forefront of conducting sympathetic autonomic nerve conduction studies, processing clinical data, and contributing to projects studying cardiac and autonomic biomarkers of SUDEP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sympathetic autonomic nerve conduction studies in epilepsy patients
  • Process clinical data, including EEG, imaging, ECG, demographic and clinical information, and video
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, risk assessments, and safe work instructions for group members
  • Train undergraduate and postgraduate students, potentially assisting junior staff
  • Order consumables, perform data analysis, and contribute to manuscript preparation
  • Assist with day-to-day supervision of graduate students
