  • Base Salary, HEO5 $79,717 - $89,256 p.a. (pro rata) + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Research Administration Officer to provide administrative services and research operational support to the School of Life and Environmental

Sciences .  

Under the guidance of the Executive Officer and their collaborators, the successful incumbent will be expected to support the research activity and requirements for the work area. This includes coordinating grant applications and submissions, preparing compliance reporting and updating data that is collected for research reporting purposes.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • deliver daily administration services ensuring high quality and efficient administrative support is provided in a proactive manner to staff, students, clients and visitors

  • facilitate academic research profile creation and ensuring accuracy in associated systems/platforms (such as IRMA, intranet and RECS)

  • ensure the appropriate coordination of School committee meetings including agenda and minute preparation, venue booking, catering and AV facilities

  • maintain records and provide finance/accounting support and reporting for the work area

  • respond to a range of enquiries via telephone, email and in person, from staff, students, visitors and the general public regarding a wide range activities.

  • university administration experience and an understanding of the university research environment

  • previous knowledge of the context of competitive grant application processes and scheme requirements

  • working knowledge of software programs such as Research Profiles Management, IRMA, Sydney Student, RECS and Power BI

  • excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • high level organisational skills, ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines

  • demonstrated ability to respond to urgencies whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Sponsorship / work rights for Australia

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
