  • Base Salary HEO 6, $95,860 - $103,341 p.a. + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Research Administration Officer to provide administrative services and research operational support to the School of Life and Environmental

Sciences .  

Under the guidance of the Executive Officer and their collaborators, the successful incumbent will be expected to support the research activity and requirements for the work area. This includes coordinating grant applications and submissions, preparing compliance reporting and updating data that is collected for research reporting purposes.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • run reports and data extracts from platforms and databases such as IRMA, Power BI, RECS to inform activities of the role and to support the research direction of the School

  • provide administrative support and coordinate grant applications including communication with staff preparing documentation for proofing, signing and submission

  • provide support for the School researcher development and training events including, but not limited to, communications and logistics

  • maintain and update research-related material including Academic Profiles Online (APO), School website, and other publications as required

  • maintain records and provide finance/accounting support and reporting for the work area respond to a range of enquiries via telephone, email and in person, from staff, students, visitors and the general public regarding a wide range activities.

  • university administration experience and an understanding of the university research environment

  • working knowledge of software programs such as Research Profiles Management, IRMA, Sydney Student, RECS and Power BI

  • understanding of the approvals processes relating to grants, funding and government related matters

  • high level organisational skills, ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines

  • excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • demonstrated ability to respond to urgencies whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

There is a requirement for this position to be on campus a minimum of three (3) days per week.
