About the opportunity
As the Research Administration Officer, you will provide research, administrative and operational support to the Clinical Chair of Communicable Disease Control and Infection Prevention.
You will facilitate and evaluate the outcomes of high-quality clinical research in communicable diseases, health protection and infection prevention between the Sydney Institute for Infectious Diseases and Sydney Nursing School at the University of Sydney and the Western Sydney Local Health District.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
provide high-level administrative and project support in research data collection and reporting for the work area
coordinate and manage project grant applications and submissions, preparing compliance reporting and storing data
assist with research work and experiments being undertaken and monitor routine aspects of the research
support ethics submissions and reporting under the guidance of the Clinical Chair
prepare documentation for publications, reports and presentations including producing graphs and tables
coordinate research meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, organising events, research conferences and seminars
undertakes ad-hoc projects and other activities.
About you
doctoral or postgraduate qualifications in epidemiology, nursing, psychology, public health, or medical and health sciences and/or relevant experience in a related field
extensive experience in administering and developing research projects, including expertise in managing research protocols, ethics submissions and grant applications.
excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills
strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement to prioritise workload during busy periods
advanced skills and experience in data management and analysis, including using statistical analysis tools, scientific literary searches, preparing literary and other analyses, and reporting on research findings,
experience in a research-intensive environment or an academic health setting
knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Policy and relevant legislation, including Safe Laboratory Practices, as applicable to the work environment.
