The Position
The Regional Manager – International Relations and Partnerships - STEMM leads the development of international relationships for South Asia, with a particularly strong focus on countries in the southeast Asian region, including but not limited to Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia. The position delivers on strategic international objectives of three ANU Colleges - College of Science, College of Health & Medicine, College of Engineering, Computing & Cybernetics - spanning research and education activities across STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics & Medicine) disciplines. The role develops and strengthens international network and partnerships, and positions the Colleges as a preferred knowledge and research partner in the assigned geographical region. It is responsible for developing and executing the Colleges' international institutional engagement plans by developing and coordinating collaborative academic and research programs, building & delivering strategic international engagement projects, developing short – and long – term mobility programs (inbound and outbound), managing international institutional agreements, and coordinating international visits/delegations. The position works closely and collaboratively with senior leadership, Research Schools, and other academic and administrative stakeholders across the three Colleges.

The Person
The ideal candidate will have strong skills and experience in developing and managing international relationships and international institutional partnerships. You will bring with you a high level of interpersonal skills and a sound knowledge and understanding of the international higher education sector in Australia and internationally (preferably South Asia). In addition to strong communication skills, you will have experience in undertaking qualitative and quantitative research and analysis to support production of briefing material, reports and presentations to senior internal and external stakeholders. As many institutional partnerships may lead to recruitment of international students, candidates that have experience planning and delivering a range of student recruitment strategies and campaigns, including virtual and in-person activities and events, might be well suited to the role.
