In accordance with section 39.4 of the Academic Staff Agreement 2017, Casual academic staff are eligible to apply for appointment if they have been employed at Western Sydney University as a casual employee for at least two teaching sessions in the last 24 months.

The School of Law is committed to excellence and innovation in teaching, research and community engagement. It has a research focus on human rights, public and health law and social justice issues. The School also has research strength in constitutional law and other private law areas. It has an innovative and growing clinical legal education program through the newly launched Justice Clinic in Parramatta.  It has also just launched its Indigenous strategy to grow the number of Indigenous students within the School and ensure their success and embed Indigenous content across the teaching program. The School offers LLB and combined LLB undergraduate degrees, an innovative range of LLM and postgraduate degrees, as well as providing law teaching for business degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. LLB programs are taught at Parramatta and Campbelltown, while Law teaching in business degrees is taught across the University. There are approximately 1,600 students in the Law School.

An opportunity exists for an Associate Lecturer to join the team with applicants from private law areas such as contract, property, commercial law, equity and trusts particularly welcome. 

About the Role
In this position you will be expected to make a contribution to a broad range of academic activities within the School and be part of the development, implementation and delivery of the teaching and learning in the program for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The School of Law programs provide a quality education for students who aim to further develop their professional career or work toward entering the field. You will be expected to maintain your professional associations and remain relevant in the industry. You will also be expected to contribute to the governance and service in the School through attending information sessions, Open Day and similar events.
