About the Team
The Institute of Culture & Society (ICS) located on the Parramatta South campus of Western Sydney University, conducts interdisciplinary and collaborative research that addresses the cultural challenges and contradictions of an increasingly globalised, heterogeneous and technologically mediated world.

The Young and Resilient Research Centre (Y&R), embedded within ICS, embraces an integrated mode of research and development, education, training and enterprise to research and develop technology-based products, services and policies that strengthen the resilience of young people and their communities, enabling them to live well and participate fully in social and economic life.

About the Role
Y&R is looking to appoint a full-time (1.0FTE) Senior Administration Officer (Research) for a period of twelve months to support pre- and post-award research management to ensure the effective delivery of our research, impact and engagement, as well as general administrative duties to ensure the Centre operates efficiently and according to university policy. Responsibilities include:

• assisting with overall Centre reporting and project registers;
• support to the co-Directors including diary management, credit card acquittal and arranging travel;
• unit-wide finance tasks (such as assisting with monthly GLWand reports and helping with the Centre’s budget; preparation of pre-award project budgets and advice);
• coordinating Centre registers and resources (e.g. maintaining a key register, technology register and laptop pool);
• preparing materials, coordinating meetings and providing secretariat for Centre-wide meetings and events; and
• support for Centre HR matters including organising Casual Employment Agreements.

The Senior Administration Officer, Research will work closely and in collaboration with the Centre Manager and receive additional skills mentoring from, the rest of the team.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and equivalent professional administrative training and experience, or equivalent experience in a research administration role.  You will also have experience in working in a social and cultural research setting with researchers in a university environment.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 6 $100,670 to $107,945 p.a. (comprising Salary of $85,067 to $91,215 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
