The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development is seeking to appoint an outstanding and innovative scholar to this fixed term Postdoctoral Research Fellow position. The position is associated with a Dementia Australia Research Foundation project on Building the evidence for the benefits of music programs in aged care. The aim of the project is to evaluate the effectiveness of a training package for aged care staff in music use for behaviour support for people living with dementia.

The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development is an interdisciplinary research institute of Western Sydney University. The vision for the Institute is to optimise human interaction, and wellbeing across lifespan. We strive to solve the problems that matter most through the themes: sensing and perceiving, interacting with each other, and technologies for humans. Researchers in MARCS come from many disciplines including cognitive science, developmental psychology, language science, music science, cognitive neuroscience, and biomedical, electrical, electronic and software engineering. The Institute consists of three Research Areas - the International Centre for Neuromorphic Systems, Brain Sciences and Biomedical and Human Technologies. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will join the Brain Sciences research program, and will be part of a research team in the Music Science Research Interest Group and Age Lab.

Remuneration Package: Academic Level A - $106,765 to $128,989 p.a., (comprising Salary of $90,218 to $108,997 p.a., plus 17% Superannuation and Leave Loading).

Note, the above salary will be paid pro-rata based on 0.4 FTE.
