About the Team
The Urban Transformations Research Centre (UTRC) is positioned as an intermediary with industry and society to create a strong culture of action-oriented research. The long-term vision is to become the leading Urban Transformations research centre in Australia with global outreach. The UTRC is centred on the complex challenges posed by the contemporary urban environment. These include, but are not restricted to, the environment and climate emergency which encompasses achieving net zero; healthy buildings; resilient communities; the circular economy, and the minimisation of waste and the reuse of materials. The UTRC also focuses on the health and wellbeing, physical and social determinants that make up sustainable urban environments. As such, the UTRC’s research will pursue the holistic transformation of the urban environment that centres on liveability and life support systems, including energy, water, materials, and health systems, offering rigorous evidence-based technical, policy and governance solutions.

About the Role
The Urban Transformations Research Centre (UTRC) is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Partnerships, Engagement and Operations Officer. The Partnerships, Engagement and Operations Officer will provide operational, partnership management and engagement support for the Industry and Society Ecosystem of the Urban Transformations Research Centre (UTRC). The role requires building and managing relationships with a diverse range of researchers and administrators across the University, between other universities and with industry, government, and societal partners to create and maintain the Industry and Society Ecosystem as part of the UTRC’s action-oriented approach to research. This role will also coordinate digital and communication software tools for project management, social media, newsletters, CRM database and reporting.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 2 years based at Parramatta City Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.

About you
The successful candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in business, communications, humanities, social sciences or other relevant discipline, with experience working in industry relationship management, engagement, partnerships or related areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to support stakeholder engagement through development and implementation of events and activities including driving engagement through online and social media communications.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and oral communication skills, together with facilitation skills to provide stakeholder coordination activities including organising and coordinating events and training.
  • High level analytical problem-solving skills with proven ability to interpret, formulate, document, exercise initiative to manage multiple tasks, competing deadlines and make decisions towards the achievement of effective outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Highly developed administrative and organisational skills and proven ability to support management with preparation of budget spreadsheets and schedules and report documents to meet deadlines and guidelines.
