About the School
The Graduate Research School (GRS) is the central administration and support unit for Higher Degree Research (HDR) activities at Western Sydney University. The GRS is responsible for the administration and scholarship management of approximately 1500 HDR candidates. The GRS also develops and delivers graduate research training and development activities at the University and aims to provide an enhanced postgraduate experience for HDR candidates at Western Sydney University.

Why Your Role Matters
The HDR Candidature Officer is a crucial member of the GRS’s new HDR Candidature team that supports the lifecycle of HDR candidates from initial enquiry and application through to graduation, and all of the milestones and activities in between.

The role of the HDR Candidate Officer provides high-level administration support, including support to scholarship establishment and management. The position forms part of a team who will provide support to HDR candidates, Schools and Institutes, through a partnering model.

About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual who can address the following selection criteria:

A tertiary qualification with extensive administrative support or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.

•             A relevant degree, and/or extensive equivalent training and relevant experience in a large and complex organisation, preferably within a university environment.
•             Demonstrated high level of administrative and customer service skills, especially in a high-volume customer service environment.
•             Demonstrated organisational, administrative and time management skills with the proven ability to research issues and undertake projects, work collaboratively as a team member or independently as required, establish priorities, reassess and renegotiate priorities with other team members and meet deadlines.
•             An understanding of government policy and funding mechanisms relating to HDR students, including general administrative procedures and overall rules and regulations pertaining to postgraduate research students operating in the Australian Higher Education system.
•             Well-developed communication, intercultural, and interpersonal skills, with capacity to build effective and productive professional relationships with staff at all levels within the organisation.
•             Demonstrated ability to implement streamlined operational procedures and the ability to critically reflect on own work processes, as well as that of the whole team.

This is a full-time, on-going position, based at the Penrith campus.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 6 $107,358 to $115,073 p.a. (comprising Salary of $90,719 to $97,238 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
